Charles-Alexis Desgagnés is a choreographer, creator, dancer, and multidisciplinary performer based in Montreal. Self-taught and fueled by his curiosity, he works in the fields of dance, improvisation, film, and teaching.
A queer artist recognized for his strength and sensitivity, he has developed an artistic vision that is human at its heart. His company, Personne Danse, is defined by a career far from the big schools, the promotion of performers-choreographers and the celebration of atypical careers.
He has trained in New York, Toronto, Quebec City, and Montreal, working with big names such as Harold Rhéaume, Tedd Robinson, Riley Sims, Chantal Caron, Ismaël Mouaraki, Kyra Jean Green, Samuel Tétreault, and Peter Jasko. He also collaborates with circus companies such as Cirque du Soleil, Cirque Éloize and Les 7 doigts de la main.
In 2018, he presented his self-produced work Mue Érable with 28 performers, which he then presented as a solo at the Festival Quartiers Danses the following year. In 2022, his group piece J'ai pleuré ce matin dans le métro brought together 23 up-and-coming performers on stage at the Maison de la culture de Verdun.
