42nd edition of the International Festival of Films on Art

The 42nd edition of the International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA) returns to Montreal from March 14 to 24 indoors, and from March 22 to 31 online.

Once again this year, dance will be in the spotlight with an evening dedicated to the art of movement: La Nuit de la danse. Danse Danse is also proud to co-present two of the festival's films: Dancing Free and Call Me Dancer.

La Nuit de la danse

La Nuit de la danse is a true projection marathon for an unforgettable night at the Théâtre Outremont. Indeed, dance has, year after year, a special place at FIFA. It is for this reason that La Nuit de la danse will once again delight the dance community and enthusiasts of the moving body. Today's greatest talents will be present at this 3rd danced edition at Théâtre Outremont: Mistaya Hemingway, Kaveh Nabatian, Hofesh Shechter, Vickie Grondin, Marlene Millar, Laetitia Demessence, Cécile Rogue, Clara Rodríguez Arasanz, Loup-William Théberge, and many others will offer their latest creations on the (very) big screen.

Dancing Free

Presented as a special event at the Locarno Film Festival, Dancing Free offers a fascinating dive into the world of contemporary choreography, revealing the creative process of three emerging choreographers: Virginie Brunelle from Quebec, Annie Hanauer from the USA and Lea Moro from Switzerland. Selected for the inaugural edition of the LAC Lugano Dance Project festival in Switzerland, these artists explore and question the concept of utopia through their art and imagination.

Call Me Dancer

Selected for an impressive number of festivals worldwide, Call Me Dancer tells the story of Manish, a street dancer from Mumbai who dreams of becoming a professional despite the opposition of his financially struggling parents. A documentary that reveals the extraordinary journey of a dancer faced with rivalry and poverty, ready to do anything for dance. A striking portrait that captures the essence of artistic dedication and human perseverance.
