Choreographer and artistic director Éric Gauthier has given two of his favourite choreographers free rein to create their own version of the legendary ballet. Marie Chouinard and Hofesh Shechter appropriate Swan Lake, shaking it up and subverting its beauty in original ways, in two daring approaches that are respectively radical and explosive, leaving their distinctive stamp on their vision of the work. Finally, Minus 16 by choreographer Ohad Naharin completes the triptych. An evening of shocks and contrasts —no gauzy tutus and romantic moonlight here!

Officer of Arts and Letters in France, she has received some thirty of the most prestigious awards and honours in the art world. She founded the Prix de la Danse de Montréal in 2011 and was director of dance at the Venice Biennale from 2017 to 2020.

Hofesh Shechter
In 2008 he founded the Hofesh Shechter Company. Today his works are performed by numerous other companies as well. He loves large wild groups, often contrasting them with extremely short, quiet scenes. His dance is restless, grounded, dynamic and free and draws influences from Jewish folk dancing, which to a certain extent he tears apart and reassembles in splinters.
